THE CIRCADIAN COMMAND FRAME

Fourteen hours of screen light. One filter between it and your retina.

You do not have a sleep problem. You have a light exposure problem that expresses itself at 2 a.m.

The Command Frame is dual-purpose hardware: HEV-filtering optics that manage what reaches your eyes across a full operating day, and open-ear Bluetooth audio built into the temples so you never take them off to take a call.

Initiate Protocol

Your calendar is a light-exposure protocol you did not design.

Back-to-back calls from 08:00. A second monitor. A phone between meetings. A laptop reopened at 22:30 because the day did not fit inside the day.

By the time you close it, your retina has absorbed fourteen continuous hours of short-wavelength light — the exact band your circadian system reads as daytime.

Your body is not confused. It is responding correctly to the signal it was given.

The failure is not willpower. It is input.

PRIMARY USES

01 · The Back-to-Back Operating Day Six hours of video calls with the audio running through the temples. HEV filtering on the lens, meeting in your ear, hands free, nothing in your ear canal. You hear the room and the call at the same time.

02 · The Evening Extension The 21:00 to 23:30 block — the last emails, the final review, the second screen. This is the window where light exposure carries the most circadian weight, and the window where the Frame does the most work.

03 · Transit and Between-States Airports, cars, the walk between buildings. Open-ear audio keeps situational awareness intact — you hear traffic, gate calls, the person next to you. Closed earbuds delete all three.

THE SCIENCE

What is established about light, and what is not established about lenses. Both, stated plainly.

The photoreceptor

Your eye contains a third photoreceptor class beyond rods and cones: intrinsically photosensitive retinal ganglion cells, expressing the photopigment melanopsin. They are not for vision. Their function is to report ambient light level to the suprachiasmatic nucleus — the master circadian clock.

Melanopsin's peak spectral sensitivity sits near 480nm. That is short-wavelength blue, and it is the center of the band a screen emits most.

The dose

The threshold is far lower than most people assume.

In a controlled study of 116 healthy adults, exposure to ordinary room light — under 200 lux, dimmer than most offices — before bedtime suppressed melatonin by 71.4% from onset to bedtime and shortened total melatonin duration by roughly 90 minutes compared to dim light. 99% of participants showed earlier melatonin onset under dim conditions than under room light.

A separate controlled trial found that evening use of a light-emitting e-reader reduced melatonin secretion, shifted circadian timing later, and reduced next-morning alertness relative to reading a printed book.

The mechanism is not in dispute. Evening short-wavelength light delays the circadian system.

What the Frame does — and what we will not claim

The Command Frame filters HEV light in the 380–500nm band. That is a measurable optical property of the lens, and it is the claim we stand behind.

We will not tell you it is clinically proven to improve your sleep. A 2023 Cochrane systematic review of 17 randomized trials concluded that blue-light filtering spectacle lenses probably make no meaningful difference to eye strain or sleep quality. A 2025 meta-analysis of controlled crossover trials found effects that pointed in a favorable direction but did not reach statistical significance.

The honest position: the physics of the input is well established. The clinical evidence that filtering lenses alone change sleep outcomes is not.

The Frame manages one variable. It is not a sleep treatment, and anyone selling it to you as one is overstating what the literature supports.

If you are dealing with a persistent sleep disorder, that is a conversation for a physician, not a purchase.

Why we sell it anyway

Because the alternative to managing a variable you control is not managing it.

And because the second function is not in question at all: ten hours of open-ear audio that never enters your ear canal, keeps your situational awareness intact, and means the hardware on your face does not come off between the 09:00 and the 21:00.

One device. Two functions. Zero moments where you have to choose.

WHAT THIS IS NOT

  • Not a prescription lens. Not a medical device.
  • Not a treatment for insomnia, migraine, or any diagnosed condition.
  • Not a replacement for the parts of sleep hygiene that are actually well evidenced — consistent timing, a dark cool room, and a hard boundary on when work ends.

It is one instrument in a protocol. Deployed correctly, it removes one variable from a system that has too many.

The input is the only part of this you control.

FAQ

Do I need a prescription? No. Non-prescription lenses, ready to wear.

Can I wear them during calls all day? That is the design intent. Up to 10 hours of continuous operation, ultra-slim frame profile, and open-ear audio that does not fatigue the ear canal the way in-ear buds do across a long day.

Will people on the call hear me clearly? Yes. Integrated microphone with call handling and voice control from the temple.

Do they block all blue light? No — and a lens that did would distort color badly enough to be unusable for work. The Frame filters within the 380–500nm HEV band while remaining wearable for screen work.

Will this fix my sleep? It manages one input. See the science section — we are direct about what the evidence does and does not support. If sleep is a persistent problem, see a physician.

What is in the box? The Circadian Command Frame, charging cable, and case.
